To switch from another vendor to Smarsh, follow the below steps:

  1. Remove all Verizon numbers from the existing Verizon Archiving Accounts.
  2. Ask the current vendor to remove all Verizon archiving accounts.
    Note: This can only be done after removing all associated numbers.
  3. Inform Smarsh after the Verizon numbers and accounts are removed.
  4. Smarsh requests Verizon to remove customer’s ECPD from the archiving platform.
  5. Verizon removes customer’s ECPD and notifies Smarsh.
  6. Smarsh sets up your archiving accounts.
  7. Opt-in messages are sent to the onboarded numbers from Verizon.
  8. End-users agree to opt-in, and the archiving service begins.
    Note: Any messages exchanged over the Verizon numbers during this process will not be archived. Verizon recommends that you block messaging on the numbers until they are re-onboarded to avoid data loss.
