WeChat Archiver Features and Storage in China
- The WeChat Archiver allows you to capture and archive WeChat communication for iOS and Android device.
- You can use the native WeCom WeChat Work app with the full features, keeping encrypted communication with other users.
- The WeChat Archiver captures & records individual and group messages, including text, multimedia, files, recalled messages, and voice calls.
- The WeChat communication is captured directly from the Tencent servers using the WeChat Archiver connector.
- WeChat communication is uploaded to the company enterprise archive with content, employee email, and message metadata.
- The WeChat Archiver is using the Microsoft Azure services in China.
- This is related to Tencent and Chinese regulations which require the messages to be stored in China before being sent outside using an official Chinese ICP (Internet Content Provider).
- TeleMessage archiving is done by a local TeleMessage.cn Chinese entity that has an official local ICP (Internet Content provider) in China to allow firms outside of China to gain access to their messages.
