To defend against brute force hacking into user accounts, the TeleMessage service will lock an account in case of 10 consecutive failed web login attempt due to invalid credentials.

How will it impact the user ?

  1. The mobile application will be signed out with an error message:
  2. Selecting OK displays the signup screen:
    iOS:

    Android:
  3. The user will not be able to login to the mobile application or to the web interface until the administrator or TeleMessage re-activates the locked account.

How will it impact the administrator ?

  1. Administrators can view their users’ account status in the User Management page. Selecting a user will display the user’s account.
  2. Locked users will appear with Locked status .
  3. To unlock a user, the administrator should:
    • return to the User Management main grid view
    • select the checkbox of the locked user
    • and then click Activate
  4. Activation confirmation will be displayed at the top of the screen:
    User(s) activated successfully
  5. Now the user can retry to login via mobile application or via web interface.

Note: Suspended status flow is the same as Locked status except for the fact that Suspended status is explicitly set by the administrator, while Locked is implicitly applied by the service.
