Why Do I See a “WhatsApp Number Mismatch!” Notification When Trying to Connect to the WhatsApp Cloud Capture Service?

The WhatsApp Cloud Capture service is linked to the mobile number your account is registered with on the TeleMessage database. 

The “WhatsApp Number Mismatch!” notification will display the last 3-digits of the mobile number you are trying to register with, and the last 3-digits of the mobile number assigned to you in our database. 

  • The 3-digits of the two mobile numbers are different

    Your account at TeleMessage was assigned an Enterprise Number. Your WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business is signed-in with a different number than the one allocated by TeleMessage.Register to WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business using that Enterprise Number allocated to you in your welcome mail then refresh the WhatsApp Cloud Capture page and scan the QR code again.
  • The 3-digits of the two mobile numbers are the same

    You are trying to connect to the WhatsApp Cloud Capture service with a Mexican or Argentinian country code.The WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business apps silently add additional digits to the area code of these regions
    •    Mexico (country code 52): adding a “1” after +52
    for example +52 XXX XXX XXX —> +521 XXX XXX XXX
    •    Argentina (country code 54): adding a “9” after +54 and removing the “15” prefixes
    for mobile numbers for example +54 15 XXX XXX XXX —> +549 XXX XXX XXX
