WhatsApp Phone Archiver now processes media download thumbnails and content that is downloaded to the WhatsApp mobile app.
Archive handling for attached media not downloaded with the message:
- For any message attachment that is not downloaded to the mobile app, we keep trying to download and pull it from the WhatsApp servers to the phone.
- We check such messages every hour, for a period of 24 hours – with the expectation that the media/files/attachments will be downloaded to the phone
- After 24 hours has passed, and in case the media was not downloaded, we will archive the information we have in the WhatsApp application, as well as the media thumbnails as an attachment.The message in the archive will indicate that it’s just a thumbnail as displayed below:
