What to do if you see unknown groups and messages in your WhatsApp Archiver over the Enterprise Number

  • TeleMessage WhatsApp Archiver enables you to use your enterprise number in WhatsApp communications. The enterprise number is “cleaned” in quarantine for 90 days before being allocated to customers. During the quarantine period,  we monitor the WhatsApp account for incoming communications. If the account received more than 2 messages, then we start the 90-day quarantine period again. If the account got one or no messages in the monitored 90-day period, then we treat this number as “cleaned” and allocate it to WhatsApp Archiver users.
  • However, the enterprise number might still be referenced by WhatsApp users who were in contact with it before the quarantine period. Previous groups and messages might show up on your WhatsApp Archiver once you install the application and possibly later on.
  • If you are seeing unrecognized new WhatsApp groups to which you were added, you should exit them and then delete them:
    Unrecognized Groups:

    • Navigate to Group info, scroll down and Exit Group.

      New incoming messages will now be blocked.
    • Then confirm your exit.
    • Now you can Delete Group  to remove it completely from the chat screen.
    • Then confirm your group deletion.
  • If you are seeing messages from unrecognized numbers you should delete these chats.
    • Delete the chat
    • And confirm deletion
  • Some of these messages might contain a status of “Waiting for this message. This may take a while. Learn more.” Don’t be alarmed. If you don’t recognize the sender’s number you can delete them. The status indicates that the sender is not online thus unavailable for exchanging encryption keys. It can happen when receiving outdated messages which were waiting in the WhatsApp server queue.
  • If you are still getting messages from unknown numbers you can block them
  • If you are receiving messages from more than 2 unrecognized numbers a month , consider changing your enterprise number. To change your enterprise number, please contact TeleMessage support support@telemessage.com
