Telegram has changed their means of distribution for OTP (one-time activation pin code) to third-party apps, such that:
Users logging into third-party apps will only be able to receive OTP via the Telegram app. It will no longer be possible to request an SMS.

TeleMessage Telegram archiver users must thus download and signup into the “native” Telegram app before signing up into TM TLGRM.

For Corp devices:

  • Users need to install “native” Telegram first and use the mobile/enterprise number to sign up.
  • The OTP will arrive by SMS.
  • Once the signup is done, they will need to install the TM TLGRM (TeleMessage Telegram archiver) app and sign up using the same number.
  • The OTP will arrive to the “native” Telegram app in the Telegram thread.

Once the signup is done, the user needs to uninstall the “native” Telegram, this is to avoid confusion and messaging not via our TM TLGRM app.

For BYOD devices:

If the user does not have “native” Telegram – follow the same steps as the Corp devices.

If the user has a “native” Telegram with his mobile number, follow these steps:

  • Tap on the menu icon and then tap on “Add Account”.

  • Go through the signup process using the enterprise number.
  • The OTP will arrive by SMS.
  • When the signup is done, they will have two accounts.

  • They will then need to install the TM TLGRM (TeleMessage Telegram archiver) app and sign up using the same number.
  • The OTP will arrive to the “native” Telegram app in the Telegram thread.

Once the signup is done, the user needs to SIGN OUT of the new account from the “native” Telegram, to avoid confusion and messaging not via our TM TLGRM app.

  • In the “native” Telegram, tap the new account, then tap Settings.

  • Tap the 3 dots menu.
  • Tap Log Out

  • Tap Log Out again:

  • Tap Log Out a third and final time:
