General

The instructions below will assist administrators in setting up TeleMessage mobile archiving with Mimecast.
The process includes three steps:

  1. Configuring Internal Directories
  2. Configuring Journal
  3. Publish MX record

1. Configuring Internal Directories

Mimecast archiving through TeleMessage Archiving solutions is based on Journaling. When a Mimecast account is provisioned for mycompany, it automatically adds 2 journaling domains. @mycompany.com and @journal.mycompany.com

The Mimecast admin can view and edit the preconfigured domains via the Internal Directories configuration page.  Administrators should create a new address mobile-archiver-@journal.mycompany.com for the @journal.mycompany.com domain.

  1. Navigate to Administration ⮞ Directories ⮞ Internal Directories:
  2. Enter the @journal.mycompany.com domain

  3. Click New Address

  4. Click mobile-archiver@mycompany.com and Save and Exit
  5. It’s recommended to allow inbound traffic only for mobile-archiver-@journal.mycompany.com email address. To restrict inbound traffic:
    1. Right click and select Edit Domain
    2. Enter Accept emails for known recipients only in the Inbound Checks dropdown menu. Then Save and Exit.

2. Configuring Journal

The journaling address should be configured.

  • Navigate to Administration ⮞ Services ⮞ Journaling
  • Click New Journal Services Definition

Follow the steps below to whitelist the TeleMessage IP address list (step 4):
These are TeleMessage service IP addresses:
    • 64.28.80.105/32
    • 70.36.26.226/32
    • 40.76.101.237/32
    • 20.242.120.136/32

3. Publish MX record

Publish an MX record for the domain journal.<company>.com pointing to MimeCast smart host address

The smart host addresses appear below.
Update TeleMessage after the XM record is published so we can activate your archiving rules.

TeleMessage will handle the SMTP routing and update the administrator by email after the routing was done.

Once the mail is received and the journaling setting above is configured, the Mimecast account will receive the mobile archived messages and calls.
