Better a little late than never…
This year’s Mobile World Congress was by far the biggest and best mobile event of 2017. With over 108,000 attendees from over 200 countries around the world, covered by 3,500 members of the international media, and over 2,300 companies participating, the conference spanned nine halls and eleven outdoor spaces at the Fira Gran Via and Fira Montjuïc convention centers!
What most struck our attention is how Mobile is the Next Element. Mobile is the force behind every emerging innovation—everything from connected cars, virtual reality, new handsets, new apps, 3D printing, privacy protection, backend solutions. One of the most interesting exhibits was GSMA Innovation City, an interactive and immersive display of the most cutting edge mobile enabled products and services.
We attended multiple events within the conference, including NEXTTech Hall 8.0, YoMo (Youth Mobile Festival), Women4Tech, Sustainable Development, 4YFN, the MMIX, the Global Mobile Awards and speaker sessions from various consumer brands, mobile organizations, operators, and industries. Keynote speaker Reed Hastings, Founder and CEO of Netflix discussed how content, and its distribution and delivery is changing and transforming, partly because of how “mobile” our world is.
The lesson we learned at this year’s MWC is that the ever changing landscape of mobile technology is advancing. The future is endless in what we will see next from mobile visionaries, and how it impacts consumer technology, content and media, government, sustainable development and even The Fourth Industrial Revolution.
We look forward to #MWC18! (And collecting and trading more pins…for those of you know what we are talking about.)
