TeleMessage's Mail Plug-In Application Now Works With Lotus Notes®
15 February , 2005 - - TeleMessage, a leading developer of messaging solutions, announced that people with Lotus Notes® clients can now send email to landline phones, mobile phones as voice calls, send SMS wireless text messages; and send messages to fax machines using TeleMessage's Mail Plug-in.

The application is easy to use. After installing the TeleMessage Mail Plug-in for Lotus Notes, simply, click on the "New TeleMessage" button on your mail toolbar, choose which devices you want to send messages to by either selecting contact devices them from your address book or typing in the device phone number, type your message and press 'Send'.

Like the Microsoft Outlook version, the Lotus Notes Plug-in allows users to do the following:

  • Send email messages to landline and mobile phones as voice messages; send SMS wireless text messages to mobile phones and send messages to fax machines.
  • Use your existing mail client and contact list from your computer.
  • Forward important filtered email to your mobile phone and receive an SMS alert.
  • Have the full message read out to you with one click via Text-to-Speech.
  • Reply to the emails from your mobile phone by SMS text or with your own voice.
  • Receive meeting reminders as text messages to your mobile phone.

"The majority of the existing market (small and medium size businesses) uses the service one of two ways. The first is simply to send text messages to employees and vendors on all types of mobile phones about urgent or time critical activities." Said Mark Carlin, Vice President of Business Development for TeleMessage. "Since the Mail Plug-in takes the recipient information directly from the customer's address book it is real easy for the customer to send text messages. The second is for the low cost BlackBerry® features such as the meeting reminders and filtered email forwarding. I believe the Lotus Notes® version will track this the same way."

TeleMessage sells the majority of the Mail Plug-in applications to mobile telecommunications carriers who are looking to increase their text messaging data revenue by selling additional buckets of messages to their corporate clients. Since the application can be fully outsourced, individually branded and requires only simple billing system integration, TeleMessage makes an ideal partner for carriers.

TeleMessage's next major improvement to the application will involve adding MMS creation and sending capability in order to further enhance the application's messaging capacity.
