Messaging International Plc ("Messaging International" or the "Company")

Trading Update

Messaging International, the AIM traded provider of innovative messaging services, is pleased to provide a trading update in advance of its results for the year ended 31 December 2005 which are expected to be released in April 2006.

Since its admission to the AIM market in August 2005, the Company has completed a number of deals and is in active discussions with global telecom operators and interoperability providers. Highlights include:

  • The Company has licensed its messaging platform to a leading Application Service Provider in China, which will shortly launch the Company's proprietary Voice to Text solution with one of China's largest telecom operators. This application enables the user to record and send a voice message to the recipient's mobile as a text message or to a fixed line number as voice. Additional products are planned to be launched on the platform during 2006.
  • Two of the largest North American operators are currently piloting the Company's proprietary Text to Landline solution which converts text messages sent to a landline phone, into an automated voice message. The recipient can then send a voice message reply, which the original sender can retrieve through a text message alert. The Board expects these trials to result in firm contracts within the coming months.
  • The Company is in trials and advanced discussions are in progress with two Israeli mobile operators for another of the Company's product groups, the 'Mail Plug-in' service, which enables users to send emails to mobile phones as text messages.
  • Cable & Wireless Jamaica ('CWJ') has adopted the Company's Text-A-Tune music feature. This enables customers to insert music clips into the Text to Landline application which CWJ launched in January 2005 using Messaging International's technology under the TexTalk brand.
  • The Company continues to develop its existing relationships with a number of blue chip companies including Rogers Wireless, the largest wireless provider in Canada. Additionally, Messaging International is looking at opportunities to further develop the business and enhance its product offering to current and potential new customers through complementary acquisitions.

With the benefit of the net proceeds received on its IPO, the Company continues to enjoy a healthy cash balance.

Messaging International CEO, Guy Levit, said: "We are committed to building our international presence and continue to make strong progress in advancing agreements with major global wireless operators and interoperability providers. We are delighted to announce our first deal in the Asia Pacific market. Working in partnership with a leading provider of wire-line telecommunications services in China will boost our corporate profile and position us to take advantage of the considerable growth forecasted in the telecoms sector in the region.

"Despite the long sales cycle to telecom carriers, we look with confidence to the Company's healthy pipeline and to concluding further agreements during 2006. We are focused on becoming an international company and are aware that each country has its own individual requirements. In line with this we are developing our products and expanding our offering to deliver solutions that fulfil those needs."
